Caf? Fran?oise font by Sharkshock is a nostalgic distorted/eroded typeface inspired by the warmth and comfort of vintage signage. With its casual, welcoming, and friendly nature, the font wears a charmingly imperfect look where the different strokes display slight discrepancies in size and shape. As the name suggests, the distorted typeface feels particularly suitable for cafes, bistros, and other places where the environment is relaxed and comfortable.
Caf? Fran?oise can also be used for the development of advertisements, signage, logos, branding designs, quotes, labels, posters, Pizza restaurant signs, decoration items, front store signs, and greeting cards.

Bonjour, font fans! Welcome to Cafe Francoise! (pronounced frahn-SWOSS). This simple yet charming display font was inspired by outdoor chalkboard signage showcasing cafes' specials of the day. These are common on the streets of places like London, Paris, Montreal, and Belgium. The letters are casual by design with an aroma as pleasant as a freshly prepared espresso. This family has been updated to now include both a regular and distressed version. The latter more closely resembles a handwritten look with high detail. Use Cafe Francoise for a bakery logo, cafe menu, or poster.
The full version includes basic Latin, extended Latin, diacritics, punctuation, kerning, and graphics. The demo contains basic Latin and limited punctuation only. Please check the glyph map for all supported characters and images.
This font, like my others, is free for personal use only. The complete files with both versions can be purchased for $35 for personal use. For commercial use, please contact me at
