Castle Press No2 font family designed by Pilaster Davy draws inspiration from vintage woodblock prints in this beautiful sans serif font fusion. The font family combines a bold impactful presence with the industrial utilitarian charm of classic Americana. The strong imposing impression makes the font incredible for headings along with slightly smaller text sizes. It stands on a solid robust appearance with clear text characters and subtle hints of retro-modern design.
Combine this font with other woodblock-inspired fonts and classic sans serifs to achieve a uniform appearance. Use it in book cover design, music album cover design, or posters.

Castle Press No. 2 is a condensed gothic font, the second redrawn from original wood type found in the Castle Press print works, after its closure.
Castle Press No. 2 is close to the original but with a few tweaks. Where glyphs have been added, the intent has been to stay as true to the feel of the original as possible. Limited language support, not present in the original, is included.
Ornaments, catchwords, and extras found elsewhere in the wood type collection are available through the glyphs palette or Character Map, depending on the operating system or application you're using. Refer to your OS or app documentation for details.
The collection includes a stackable 2-color Union Jack found in a Delittle sample book (just as an experiment) and a separate quick-set border font inspired by a Delittle wood type border. Read the PDF for instructions and examples.
Because the Castle Press No. 2 has been recreated to rescue it from a dusty drawer and an uncertain fate, and to preserve it for the future, it is served free for personal use and "as is". If you like Castle Press No. 2, please feel free to make a domestic brew-sized donation to the "buy the author a beer" fund using the donate button. For commercial use, should you find one for it, a donation would be good manners. Enjoy!
