Cowboya font family by deFharo is a vintage western-inspired font family for personal use. The fonts within the family are carefully designed to immediately evoke nostalgia in your audience and transport them to the Victorian period. Both ornate and decorative, the fonts which contain diagonal lines in some of the character designs still manage to exude class and style as well as an air of boldness and readiness.
Bring out your festive spirit whenever you use this free font family for posters and headlines. With a layered design, it will also work well for entertainment and event promotions. Cowboya is a typography with concave Tuscan serif, highly contrasted and inspired by modernist design. It includes three versions of the font that can be used by superimposing layers, resulting in multicolored typographic titles.
For the design of this typeface, I was inspired by the credit titles used in the 1950 black-and-white film directed by Fritz Lang, called The House by the River. To the original letter forms, I added decorative elements to give the fonts a festive character. Traditionally, this type of decorative font emerged in Italy in the 19th century and was used in large headlines and posters closely related to circus shows, carnivals, or Western American environments. I have also rounded the sharper joints of the counters and forms to create a contrast with the sharp Tuscan serifs, which brings a modern background of techno inspiration and soft shapes.
