Hobby of night font by deFharo is a free font inspired by the fonts used on bands’ instruments and amplifiers during the 60s and 70s. Its letters have an elegant allure, yet they keep that friendly casual vibe we all look for in our written communication. Such qualities make Hobby of night a strong typeface with a fancy modern touch that instantly catches the attention of any reader.
Hobby of night can be used in many contexts and for the purpose of designing commercial products easily. It works exceptionally well on children-related projects including posters, books, stationery, animations, games, clothes, and toys.
This font from deFharo is available for personal use only. Donations can be made to get additional use rights in commercial contexts.
Hobby of Night is my first typography project of 2013, a font created with the silence of the night and the passion of an intoxicating entertainment as drawing and typography design. In honor of this hobby, I named it accordingly.
This is a display font, thick, sans-serif, and condensed, with all the Latin characters (369) and suitable for use in all European languages.
With this font, you can compose typography for posters, billboards, or flyers, and use it to design your brochures, flyers, or publications, making it ideal for large titles and labels.
The letter shapes were inspired by the deformation of rubber letters when pressed by the thumb and index finger on the top and bottom, creating a concave curve and, in turn, a convex curve on the sides.
