Description
IBM Selectric Light font family designed by Aleksandar Stevanov includes 2 free font styles for personal use. This typewriter style font is an uneven aesthetic inspired by the typewriting machine that carries the font’s same name. The iconic typewriters manufactured by IBM have been acclaimed worldwide since their introduction more than 60 years ago. Despite their discontinuation, they had a lasting aesthetic influence on design, a mark reflected in this grotesque sans serif font. With its casual and friendly appearance, the characters are clear, instantly readable, and remarkably neat.
A light-hearted and informal font such as this one would do wonders to communicate old-school style and nostalgia to users who have been previously exposed to IBM typewriters. It would also develop a unique perspective for younger generations who might not have known them before.
