Author's note
Morning Calm is a free postmodern Latin font inspired by postmodern Korean typefaces and by Korean traditional calligraphy. Its modern condensed structure, coupled with the very organic brush stroke serifs, make it unique and well-suited for both headings and body text.
The name originates from the Joseon dynasty, which was called the "Land of the Morning Calm" in English. Morning Calm is the result of a 3-month design process to find the right balance between traditional and modern typeface design, between Latin and Korean calligraphy, and between decoration and readability.
The font was created at Kookmin University for the final project of a typography class. Special thanks to the instructor, Euriae Kim.
