Munson font family designed by Paul Miller is a classic serif font that comes in 4 styles. It is a decorative nostalgic typeface with robust forms like the traditional Victorian type, and ornate details such as seen in the “E” which featured a tilde-like shape in its back, making it perfect for attention-focused design. Styles available range from regular to bold, italic, and bold italic caps.
Use Munson for packaging of key brands that want to stand out, editorial headlines, social media graphics, quotes, display typography, and magazines. It is also ideal for digital content, publishing, websites, brochures, posters, and postcards.
This font is licensed under the Open Font License (OFL) which allows commercial use and modification.
The Munson font is a Victorian-style slab serif font, inspired by the Consort typeface of 1815 by the Stephenson Blake Company of Sheffield and the Clarendon typeface of 1845 by the Fann Street Foundry of London. While the Munson font draws inspiration from these historical fonts, it has been reinterpreted with a great deal of artistic license, and is not a direct representation of either.
The italics were designed to resemble the equation italics commonly used in mathematics textbooks of the late 1800s. The Munson font also features numerous OpenType features.
