TT Modernoir is a display sans serif font characterized by dynamic proportions. Fluid lines and delicate Art Nouveau forms blend seamlessly with the rhythmic flow and improvisational freedom of jazz. Inspired by French typography of the 20th century and noir film aesthetics, this typeface reflects its vibrant name.
A key feature of TT Modernoir is the significant proportion difference between square and oval characters: the squares are extremely narrow, while the ovals are very wide. The curved letter legs add an exquisite touch, and the dynamic swirls create a sense of musical rhythm and movement.
While the typeface does not include lowercase characters, it features small caps to emphasize prepositions, short words, and other text elements. A stylistic set with narrow proportions for the oval characters can be utilized for more balanced typesetting. Conversely, an underlined glyph set enhances expressiveness where needed. Additionally, the curly set incorporates swirls in the letters S and Z and curved legs in R and Я.
