This typeface is inspired by patterns inside Wayang and Patran patterns.
Wayang is an original particular kinds of theatre from Java. When the term is used to refer to kinds of puppet theatre, sometimes the puppet itself is referred to as wayang. Performances of shadow puppet theatre are accompanied by a gamelan orchestra in Java, and by gender wayang in Bali.
Patran is a Javanese ethnic pattern which looks like stacked leaves in rows. Usually, it is crafted on the narrow and long part of a building.
I created this font as it was my university's assignment. However, I found great joy in the making.
