Younger Futhark Danaamyhr font by Daniel Aasen Myhre is a free font rooted in the iconic runes of the Younger Futhark alphabet. Inspired by the Nordic runes, the alphabet developed by Norsemen and was used from the 9th century until the 11th century. The main use of the alphabet was for ceremonial purposes and not for communication like modern writing. The letters of Younger Futhark Danaamyhr are geometric, symbolic, and simple. Type effortlessly in this font to give your projects a mysterious and historical look.
The font should come in handy if you are a TV or film producer working on the next Viking-themed series, or other projects related to Norse mythology and history. Younger Futhark Danaamyhr also makes for a great free font for high-end fashion signage by brands that want to embrace Nordic culture on products or for branding purposes.

This is a remake of my previous font.
Do not take this as a historically accurate font! I may be wrong on some runes, but just as with real life in the middle ages when runes became used by ordinary people, variations and different usage are not uncommon.
This time, I added the "long branch" variation used primarily in Denmark, together with the base "short twig" version.
This font includes most of the same characters as the previous font, but with some new variations (press CAPSLOCK for some of the characters).
The letter Z is representing Þ (thorn).
Some characters are not represented because they did not have a runic equivalent.
I hope you enjoy this font!
The previous font got 2,500 downloads.
Someone even donated $15!
Money is not the whole reason I recreated this font, but it sure helped.
